    My Embarassing Moment
So, I haven't wanted to tell anyone this because I thought it would just make me look like an idiot, but I might as well entertain you all with a story of my stupid and embarassing moment from Tuesday. Now that AP's are over, we're just working on final projects in most classes, and my physics final project is the construction of a door alarm. In order to construct this door alarm, a hot glue gun is necessary. I won't go into the graphic details, but I will say that I learned from experience not to wave a plugged-in hot glue gun in my right hand while waving my left hand in the same general vicinity, because eventually, contact will be made, and it will hurt a lot. So, after cold water, ice, bandages, and Burn Relief, I negated all the previous listed efforts by going swimming, which (obviously) made the bandages come off and (apparently) will also do the exact opposite of soothe a burn. Needless to say, it was not helpful at the North Coast Section swimming championships. And then, on top of that, the day before the big meet, I played tennis for 3 hours (I also fell on my back) and strained my shoulders wrapping lights in cellophane for Leigh-Anne's art project. However, NCS is always a rather quixotic experience for my school, since there is never any chance of us continuing on to the finals or even the consolation finals (or, as I like to call them, "pity finals").

I started listening to every song on my iPod on shuffle. At the rate of 50 a day, I'll need 80 days to finish, and there's no way I'll be able to listen to 50 songs a day, because that's about 3.5 hours. So I guess I'll be listening to this until about my birthday. But it's worth it, really.

Procrastination...is making me late...is keeping me waiting...
The funny thing about AP's this year is that, no matter how hard I try, I can't bring myself to care about them. Perhaps it's because they are absolutely meaningless now...regardless, my mom is threatening dire consequences if I should (gasp!) get lower than a 4. But, that's still not enough motivation to get me to open my physics book.

I went to the ballet yesterday, saw "Romeo and Juliet," which was, unsurprisingly, beautiful. At the end, I couldn't help but think that the story would've been even more tragic if Juliet woke up after Romeo had drunk the poison, but before he had died. That way, he would know exactly the cruelty of the fates (they ARE star-crossed, after all) and the unfortunate coincidence of timing. But, perhaps, that would've been a little TOO tragic.

Dudes, so I had this totally rad interview yesterday, with this totally awesome guy who just graduated from Columbia. I think it went awesome, because we discussed Antonioni and Wong Kar-Wai and stuff, and he was like, "You rock!" and I was like, "No, you rock!" But seriously, man, it was hella tight, and I think it went hella well, too, dudes.
